Andrew has more than twenty years’ financial experience. He graduated from Oxford University with a BA (Hons) in Modern History and then qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1991. He later joined that firm’s Management Consultancy arm as a financial modeling expert. After working in the Structured Finance division of BZW, the investment bank of Barclays Group, where he developed an influential Modelling Standards Manual, Andrew joined Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in 1997 as Head of Financial Modelling for the 150 strong Global Project and Export Finance Department. At Dresdner KB, Andrew was responsible for formal training courses for modelers and non-modelers alike, as well as informal on-the-job support for everyone using or developing models.
In 2001, Andrew joined Bank of Ireland’s Global Project Finance team as a Director, where he focused on arranging and underwriting large infrastructure transactions using project and acquisition finance structures. During this time, he was responsible for securing more than €1.0 billion of financial commitments to nearly 30 deals in ten different countries, many in sectors, types of deal, and risk categories that were new to Bank of Ireland.
